During my education foundations 101 class this semester, we did a reflection on things we learned about during the semester. Below are some of the questions I have answered on topics we discussed in class.
Which of these schools really appeal to you and why?
The school that appeals to me the most is a private school. I like how they have a mission and they want to complete this mission when they are teaching.
Which ones do you wish you could have attended yourself, or would recommend others choose to attend?
A school that I wish I would’ve attended myself is a charter school. I want to because I feel like it could be similar to a private school.
Who do you predict would be in favor of school vouchers? Why might they be in favor?
People with a lower income, students with disabilities are able to have a school voucher. They are in favor because then these students can attend the schools they want like a private school. It could really help out some of the families that are in need of that support.
Who would be against school vouchers? Why might this group be against school vouchers?
People that would be against school vouchers are parents that have students at public schools. School vouchers are taking funding away from the public schools. This is weakening the public school systems more. Which doesn’t help where public schools might go.
What is your opinion on school vouchers?
I think school voucher programs are a good thing for people in need. One of the downsides is that they’re taking away from funding for public schools. Which will most likely be a negative effect on public schools. I do think funding for public schools is important. But if there was a way to make it good for both parties I think that would be the best option.
